Highgate Carriage House Wedding
From the very beginning, Mickaela and Justin have felt like life-long friends. They were the first couple to book us for this season, and ever since their Pittsburgh engagement session, we’ve been counting down the months then days with them. So finally walking into their Highgate Carriage House wedding felt like the start of a celebration we’d all been waiting for together.
The morning was full of excitement. Mickaela slipped into her gorgeous gown—complete with a bow detail and a cathedral-length veil that seemed to float forever. Her bridesmaids were the sweetest group of girls, working behind the scenes to make sure everything ran smoothly, laughing together, and keeping the atmosphere joyful. You could feel just how loved Mickaela was by the way they cared for her all day.
One of my favorite moments happened before the ceremony: her first look with her Pawpaw. The second he saw her, tears streamed down his face, and it was one of the sweetest moments! Weddings aren’t just about two people becoming one—they’re about families, legacies, and the memories that tie generations together.
As the day went on, the sun was bright and bold—maybe a little hot, but it made the grounds of Highgate glow. Every black and white detail stood out against the summer light, timeless and elegant. It was the kind of day where you don’t have to work hard to find beauty—it’s everywhere you look.
By the time the reception started, it felt less like working a wedding and more like celebrating with friends. From the details to the dances, everything felt like the perfect ending to a story we’ve been a part of since the very beginning.
