We are Katelyn and Will Workman, and we are so passionate about making wedding photography about so much more than snapping a camera. You have dreamed of this your whole life, and we want to make sure those dreams not only become a reality. but we help you create the legacy you desire. One important part of making your wedding photography experience the best it can be is making sure that you connect with your photographer, so I would love to tell you a little bit about who we are.
Will and I (Katelyn) got married young, and at the time I was a teacher and Will worked at a non-profit. While working with a lot of kids with hard lives, we felt called to become foster parents. Only a year into our marriage, we got our first placement. A beautiful, wild, very broken blonde-hair blue-eyed girl. Will bought me a camera to document our little girl, and I quickly discovered I LOVED making people feel good in front of the camera. This very quickly turned in to a business that gave me the opportunity to stay home with that little girl who we soon adopted.
Because of this, we are very passionate about foster care, and a small percentage of the KWP wedding experience investment will be given back to support the foster care crisis.
We are so proud that what started as a hobby taking photos of our girl quickly turned into a passion to do things differently and provide a personal and professional wedding photography experience,
We promise to make you feel comfortable in front of the camera. We are notorious for having skeptical grooms actually ENJOY being in front of the camera!! We believe wedding days should be filled with joy, and our light and bright edits reflect that and will not look dated in a few years. We will be professional, but also personal and love connecting with our couples.
We photograph every wedding together, so Will takes care of the groom while I take care of the bride. We are a team and work seamlessly together. You deserve the best possible experience, and we have spent years perfecting ours to give you just that!
For years I admired our own wedding photographs in the viewing gallery my photography e-mailed to us. They were so pretty! Well, from what I could tell as I viewed them on my tiny iPhone screen...
I almost lost them all!!
My photographer was no longer a wedding photographer, and I almost didn't even get the chance to download them, much less print them.
I realized the mistake I was making, and the disservice I was doing by only delivering client photos in an online gallery.
Because we believe the photos we take are creating your legacy, with photos to be cherished and shared with your future kids and families and friends, you will get to view your wedding photos for the first time with us in person! You can invite your close family and cry *happy tears* all over again as you get to re-live your day 3-4 weeks later while you view your photos, and we will share a custom album design if you choose to invest in one.
We finally invested in an heirloom album and LOVE sharing that legacy with our beautiful daughter and can't wait to share it with our son as he gets older. For now, he loves pointing at the beautiful wedding canvas displayed in our living room of his mama and daddy!
Since it is the 21st century and we know you want to share digitally as well, all of our couples also receive their digital images in an online gallery to share online!
Tell me about the engagement session:
I book engagement sessions at least one month in advance and 60 miles of travel from Bluefield, Virginia, is included. If you have another location in mind, I will send you a custom quote. These sessions are 1-2 hours, typically on weekdays, and include digital files with the option to purchase an album to use as a sign-in book on your wedding day.
How will I receive my photos?
You will get to view your wedding photos for the first time at a viewing celebration at our home 3-4 weeks after your wedding day. After the viewing party, your images will be delivered through an online gallery that can be easily shared with friends and family. A print release will be included so you
can print as many as you'd like!
How do I pay?
I accept cash or credit. All sales subject to 6% WV Sales Tax. A $500 non-refundable retainer is required to reserve your date. The remainder is due 30 days before the wedding, but can be paid monthly or in one payment.
How do I book?
If we decide we are a good fit for each other, I will send an online client workspace with a proposal, payment method, and contract. You can sign directly online with your finger or by drawing your
signature with your mouse. Then you will get a welcome e-mail and be added to our KWP bride Facebook community!
What if I don't want an album?
Even if you choose not to purchase an heirloom album, we still will invite you to our home for a viewing party because seeing your wedding photos for the first time should be a celebration event and not happen impersonally through an e-mail in the middle of your work day.
Why is it such an investment?
Choosing KWP means having peace of mind that your photos will be safe. We have years of experience to know how to handle every situation from delayed schedules to bad reception light to hurricanes. You will have every moment documented in a joyful and professional way, and we will invest in who you are as a couple... and you can't put a price on that kind of experience!
Katelyn and Will exceeded all of my expectations. Not only are the photos absolutely beautiful, but Katelyn and Will are so nice, professional, and easy to work with!
You know when you meet someone and you just get that feeling of how genuine they are as a person? That is how I felt with both Katelyn and Will. They are invested in making sure you have the most beautiful photos.
Wedding days can be quite stressful, so it is truly a gift when you can have people like Katelyn and Will around to take that stress away.
