If you are planning an Ohio wedding, finding the right Cleveland Ohio wedding planner is the first step and with SO many incredibly talented wedding planners, I thought it would be fun to feature some of the best here on the KWP blog!
Meet Jayna with Kirk Brides: Cleveland Ohio wedding planner. When she’s not working, you can find Jayna spending time with her family and going to the park or zoo with her sweet toddler. Let’s get to know her!!
Describe your dream wedding day: My dream wedding day would be smaller and more intimate and include unique and well thought out details that create a cohesive design element throughout. I also love bright florals & wedding days with ceremony & reception all at the same venue!
What makes a dream client for you? Someone who not only trusts my input as to what would work best for their wedding day (logistically) but someone who implements my unique design ideas that may not be able to be found on Pinterest.
What is the most popular service you offer? Full planning
How many weddings do you take on per year? How far outside of your location do you serve? Typically about 15 weddings each year and most weddings are in the Cleveland area but willing to travel!
Do you specialize in any particular type of weddings? Nope- our team plans & coordinates weddings of all sizes & at any venue!
Do you offer any services outside of full planning? I (as well as any other senior planner on our team) offer partial planning as well for anyone who already has a few vendors booked but wants help bringing everything else together. We also have junior planners on our team who focus on coordination clients & smaller events like showers, rehearsal dinners & brunches.
Do you offer services on non-wedding days? Yes! I’ve had a few weekday weddings & we also do other events (birthday parties, showers, etc.)
What are your top 3 favorite venues and why? The Cleveland Museum of Art, Shoreby Club & The Hilton. Each venue is unique in it’s own way but I love the Cleveland Museum of Art because not only is it such a large, open space but the onsite catering is incredible and they have the best team that helps make my job even easier. Shoreby Club is such a gorgeous venue right on the water that sometimes I forget that we are in Cleveland when I am there! The Hilton is the tallest hotel in Cleveland & offers beautiful views of downtown for getting ready & also has a wonderful catering team. Their ballroom also has floor to ceiling windows and a large cocktail hour space.
What would your advice be to brides who don’t currently have a planner? Hire a planner! Many think they can’t afford it but the amount of money you are going to spend blindly selecting vendors without knowing anything about the industry is going to surpass the investment of a planner (on top of save you a ton of time & stress). Our fee almost always ends up paying for itself in this way and most clients say it was the best investment they ever made! And if you’ve already done most of the planning, at least get a coordinator to help manage everything you have already done. Speaking from personal experience, you don’t want to be the one calling your vendors the day of the wedding to see where they are or let them know your transportation is running late! OR showing up to your venue and things aren’t set up the way you planned because you didn’t have someone in your corner as your personal insurance policy.
Why did you decide to be a wedding planner? I’ve always loved helping friends & family with their weddings, parties & events, whether it was with the plans themselves or setting up and decorating, so once I started planning my own wedding, I knew I needed to make a career change and go after my dream job!
What is your favorite part about wedding planning? I love getting to know new people and building a relationship with them leading up to one of the biggest days of their lives. It’s such an intimate process at times and being able to help them through all of the ups/downs & uncertainties and then see the look on their faces as they are dancing the night away with their family & friends, is just the best feeling in the world!
#1 piece of advice for current brides wedding planning: I would say that they should focus on what truly matters (marrying the love of their life). Some brides get so caught up in the details & stress themselves out about these little things that don’t matter in the long term. No one will know if you didn’t have time to order custom cocktail napkins or that the envelopes you ordered for your save the dates were supposed to be navy and not white!
Favorite current wedding trend: COLOR! I have been loving designing with various colors in not only florals but stationery & rental pieces rather than the black, white, ivory & gold weddings.
Favorite drink: Currently, Arnold Palmer- I have been craving them so much recently!
Favorite thing to do when you’re not working? Spend time with my family. We have a 2.5 year old and a little one on the way and I love going to the park or zoo & making memories.
