Last August I was applying to every school in Mercer County. I loved my second grade team in Hinton, but I did love the 45 minute commute and I was willing to teach anywhere to get experience in this county. I was thrilled when I got a call from Melissa Boothe offering me a second grade position at Spanishburg Elementary. I didn’t know much about the school, but I gladly accepted. Do you want to know the crazy part?? I had less than 24 hours to get my supplies from Hinton, turn in a resignation letter, prepare a classroom I hadn’t seen yet, and write first day lesson plans. No problem. I was overwhelmed to say the least!
When I arrived at my new school, I realized I would have an aide, I didn’t know what to expect. But Emily was such a blessing that year!! She stayed for hours to help me get my room ready when I had no idea what to do with the little time I had. She was always willing to do so much more than I asked and was such an encouragement. Even though she is not in my classroom anymore, she is still such a helper and encourager. I had so much fun spending time with her family during this shoot. I hope you enjoy these beauties as much as I do!
