I met Abbey years ago when she and I both danced and our paths often crossed at different events even though we were at different studios, and I was so excited for her Princeton, West Virginia, engagement photos. Even though we live in Bluefield, we often travel to beautiful venues for engagement sessions, so finding the beauty in our small town was so much fun and these two are just so sweet!!
Exploring Princeton’s Small-Town Charm
When it comes to capturing the perfect engagement photos, we love choosing sentimental locations. After meeting in law school, Abbey and Patrick chose to build a home in Princeton, West Virginia, so it made sense as the perfect backdrop for a delightful summer engagement session. Mercer Street Grassroots District
For a touch of nostalgia, we headed to the Mercer Street Grassroots District. This charming area is lined with picturesque storefronts, colorful murals, and vintage architecture, creating a whimsical backdrop that exudes small-town charm. We started at the Princeton library, which was extra sentimental with Abbey’s grandmother’s name on the front. Then we explored the streets while they walked hand in hand so we could grab some authentic photos to document the romance of their engagement.

Princeton West Virginia Golden Hour on the Farm
When Abbey mentioned using her family’s farm, I knew we could make magic there. Imagine the enchanting scene of a golden hour engagement session on a family farm hidden among back roads in Princeton, West Virginia. The sun was starting the set when we got up the mountain, casting a warm, golden glow across the wide open fields. The views were nothing short of magical and the perfect place for those dreamy romantic summer moments I knew they would love.
We absolutely loved documenting Abbey & Patrick’s engagement with the sweetest session and we can’t wait for their wedding very soon!!
