Katie + Cody | Buckeye Farm, Virginia, Wedding

Saturday we got to spend the most beautiful day at Buckeye Farm in Newport, Virginia, with Katie + Cody and their close friends and family. Katie is a photographer, too, and planned every detail beautifully! She actually met Cody while she was doing a portrait session for him (and his girlfriend at the time, haha!!). And thankfully that led to them reconnecting later and they are so sweet together.   I got to hang out with Katie and her sweet sis, mom, and mother-in-law while they were getting ready. It was such a calm, fun start to the day.  Will and our shooting assistant for the day, Patrick, (who was also a previous groom from one of our 2018 weddings!!) hung out with Cody while he was getting ready. He fished, got his hair cut, had his hair fixed by his mom, and spent time with his dad. It was a very relaxed afternoon for a wedding day!   Then Katie and her dad had the sweetest Daddy-daughter first look. We always recommend these and they are one of our favorite parts of the day. So sweet!!  After our rainy day last weekend, we were super thankful for the sunshine during this ceremony!   Katie’s grandparents were the “flower girls” which was just the cutest.  And they’re married!!!   MY FAVE!!!!  Introducing Mr. + Mrs. Cumbee!!  After cake we snuck out to the gorgeous field at Buckeye Farm for some sunset portraits and they are my favorite of the day!! We had so much fun and the light was so perfectly soft!!  Congratulations, Katie + Cody! We love y’all and wish you the best!!!
