After a hard week with a lot of moodiness and behavior problems, I was sitting in the living room and Sonya was playing in her room. I could hear her singing “Lord I need You” over and over. Then she walked into the living room with tears streaming down her face and just said, “Mom, I need to pray with you.” I held her and she prayed through sobs that God would take away all the bad in her heart, and that she knew the people in the church were right and she needed God’s help. And she prayed that he would just take all of her sin away and help her and that she knew she needed him. After she prayed she said, “it’s because of my pastor” and you know her pawpaw’s heart had to explode.
It was so sincere and she was so obviously broken by the spirit. She told me later, “well, there goes my life of sin!”
We have prayed over her heart since the day we said yes to bringing her home, and we know so many of you have too. We are so incredibly thankful for God’s protection over her life.
Her pawpaw (my dad) baptized her in a church-full of the sweetest church family, and we are so proud!!
