We arrived at the Annie Lane Wedding Resort for McKenzie and Jason’s wedding on a gorgeous fall day with PERFECT weather! We already knew it was going to be an amazing wedding day, but the perfect weather at the gorgeous Annie Lane Wedding Resort just topped it off.

I met McKenzie three (I think?) years ago when a mutual friend asked me to photograph a church retreat for middle and high school girls. I still remember (even though I hate to admit it) debating whether I should say yes and whether it was a good business decision. But I did, and I remember just really needing to be a part of it. It was so amazing and needed to watch these older girls pouring into younger girls and just lighting a fire in their hearts with the Gospel. Mckenzie and I connected immediately, and I remember her just seeming so genuine and filled with the joy of the Lord.

I was so honored when she asked me to photograph her wedding, and was teary when she Facetimed me to tell me about the proposal, and teary again multiple times throughout the wedding day, but especially when her best girls surrounded her in prayer.

The love between McKenzie and Jason is so sweet and so pure. It was honor to photograph their amazing wedding!! We started with some details, including using the Bible the Jason used to propose.

annie lane wedding resort These shoes were so fun!! I had so much fun hanging out with this sweetest group of girls; McKenzie’s sister did the best job taking care of her sis all day! The sweetest prayer with her girls had everyone in tears. Then McKenzie snuck out for a quick first look with her dad before her first look with Jason! When we left Will said, “Sonya is never getting married, I can’t handle all the dad moments” haha! This group was a ton of fun! I cannot handle how cute McKenzie niece and mini flower girl is!!! MY FAVE!! Annie Lane Wedding Resort is another stunning hidden gem, just right across the West Virginia and Ohio border! It is a great option for Huntington, West Virginia weddings! Her mom and grandfather praying over the rings! Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Newman!!! These two have way too many portraits!! Annie Lane Wedding Resort has a beautiful white, clean reception area that made these photos so easy! The cutest cereal bar and breakfast for dinner which is our favorite! The father daughter dance-off was amazing!! Followed by a fun speech/rap by the bride’s sister! Congratulations, McKenzie and Jason!! We love y’all and are so happy for you!!
