A Dreamy Mountain Wedding | Bailey & Nick’s Summit Bechtel Spring Wedding
Bailey and Nick’s wedding day at Summit Bechtel Reserve was one of those days that reminds me exactly why I love what I do. Nestled in the heart of the West Virginia mountains, this venue is always breathtaking—but their day had a little extra magic.
Rain fell softly all morning, misting over the hills and creating the most romantic, storybook feel. Bailey was the epitome of grace—sweet, calm, and glowing with joy. She is the kind of bride every photographer dreams of: full of heart, kind to everyone around her, and fully present in every moment.
As we watched the skies, hoping for a break, something beautiful happened. Right as the ceremony was supposed to start, it was POURING the rain. They made with call with their sweet planners to move the ceremony back about 15 minutes. Moving a timeline is never easy, but in this case, it was 100% worth it!! After about fifteen minutes, the rain stopped, casting the most incredible light over the fog-covered mountains. It was like the world paused just for them. The break in the rain lasted maybe twenty minutes—but it was perfect. Framed by sweeping views and surrounded by love, Bailey and Nick said “I do” with the mountains behind them and fresh spring air all around. I’m choosing to blame post-partum hormones– but though we had just met that day, their sweet vows had me in tears!! We just loved these two.
Afterward, the rain returned, but it didn’t matter. Their joy was radiant. The day wasn’t about perfection—it was about two best friends promising forever, come rain or shine.
