It is okay to take a break. Do you feel guilty if you take a day off because you are so busy trying to grow a business?
What if I told you it’s not just okay to take a break, but it is necessary?
This year I had a major realization. I had always bragged about how I always worked and never took a day off. You know, I wore my busy like a badge of honor like we all do.
Then my sweet husband took me to the beach for my birthday, and I did nothing work-related. We read fiction, ordered take out, got off social media, walked on the beach, went for a run, and just enjoyed the view.
And do you know what happened?
My creativity exploded. I got home feeling refreshed but also had a ton of new ideas for my business. Taking the time to get away from the to-do list and give myself space to create new ideas was crucial to moving forward in my business, and I didn’t even know that was what I needed.
Are you giving yourself a break and the white space you need to grow?
Here are a few things to try:
-Get off social media
-Go for a walk
-Go for a long drive
-Take a “workcation”
-Go hiking
-Make time for exercise
-Go to a coffee shop and dream with a friends
-Make a vision board
-Do a brain dump
-Brainstorm with a friend
I know how important each of these things are when looking at how to grow a business. So important that I made a whole retreat called CREATE to give entrepreneurs a space to do all these things and grow together!! Want more info? Just send me an e-mail at katelynworkmanphotography@gmail.com.
